History pages have named our town variously, the Hittites the 'Kasura', Ionaians 'Dioshieron', the Ottomans' 'Kesre'…Özdere met with its current name current in 1960 .
OTTOMAN PERIOD "Kesri"
We encounter Kesri's name which was an important karye(village) of İzmir in 1467 and 1475 during the Ottoman Period ( according to records). In an essay dated 1467, only the Mesavli (Çakaltepe), Fractional (Özdere), Emirdoğan, Dryanda and Albin (Burr) villages are found in the county of İzmir.of these; Mesavlı and Kesri depended on the township of Cumaovası , Çapar and Emirdoğan depended on the township of Dryanda ( Ayrancılar ). Two of the townships of the period were Cumaovası and Dryanda. Dryanda, is bagged on the remaining area to the left of the path of İzmir – Torbalı. The area to the right of the path was called Cumaovası (now the Menderes district) . In the following years Degirmendere will be the center of the township. The period witnessed the first Turkish settlements in our region in 1329 Aydinsons Aydınoğlu Umur Bey, the son of Mehmet Bey, İpsili (Doganbey) and its surroundings were seized. Umur Bey, 'together with the starting period, Cüneyt Bey, son of Dogan Bey, the name began to be called Doganbey. Aydinoglu Umur Bey, Doğan Bey and Cüneyt Bey used Hisar, (Hisar Expeditionary) township and Doganbey for the sake of the future of the islands in the Mediterranean pointed to the dangers ,as an lookout. Following the diagnosis of Umur Bey and Doganbey , Aydınoğlu State was an important settlement of the Aegean Sea to Samos as a shield for ships in the surrounding area. In the records dated 1467 , we could find that the most populous villages of the settlements in the township were Cumaovası Kesri and Gumuldur .according to these records, there were 68 households at that time. The region has been a pirate bed in each period. The Castle Çıfıt in Doganbey is also known as the Pirate Castle.
Records from the biggest sources tell us that many of piracy incidents took place in this region.In the Ottoman Period the ownership of the land belonged to the state. These lands were distributed to people 'for services' to the government. On the basis of a book dated 1467, starting with 230 Mesavli Page, Emirdoğan, Dryanda and Burr are stated. Ribbon (Karsiyaka), buffalo (Bornova), Urla, Çeşme, Hereke, Duzce, Seferihisar subdistricts are registered. Emirdoğan, Burr and Dryanda villages were recorded as tax payers as well. Stratigraphy in the book only, Gumuldur, Camli, and ribbon Golyaka were the presence of the congregation.
